I came across a very enlightening paragraph in a book of wisdom writings which to my mind could be a way to smooth relations between people of different faiths, especially in these times when intolerance and bigotry often raises its head.
The writer states he met a very wise Muslim who, in the course of their conversation on matters spiritual, referred, not to Allah, but rather to "A higher power". This left a lasting impression in the writers mind who realized that this wise Muslim had done this on purpose to facilitate the dialogue between them as well as to facilitate the flow of spiritual energy, both of them knowing inwardly that Allah is but one manifestation of a vaster universal power, even as the Christ or Vishnu are but great manifestations of that same force or center of Cosmic energy.
