You’ve heard me say before that everything that happens in our lives is there because we’ve attracted it there. This all happens because of the Law of Attraction – where we put our focus is what we attract and create in our lives.
Let me now add another theme to this that I’ve touched on a few times before: We are here to learn and experience new things. Why? So that we, and the whole of Source, can grow and evolve. Remembering, of course, that we are Source, and Source is us, so when we evolve, so too does Source – and vice versa. This physical environment that we are experiencing right now has been created to give us even more opportunities to encounter things that will help us learn and grow.
Yet knowing all this, we still moan about some of the experiences we have! That in itself is an experience that will keep happening until we really understand why we’re here. Did I say already it’s so that we can grow and evolve? I know it may sound like I’m repeating myself endlessly here, but sometimes us humans do need to hear something quite often to really “get it”! It’s not that we’re dense, but we’ve grown accustomed to the Ego running our lives for us instead of the Deep Soul within our hearts.
Let’s take a deeper look at these dramas we create. So our life seems to be going on swimmingly: we’re in a lovely routine that works; we’re relatively happy most of the time; we feel safe because we know what we’re doing; we’re meeting the same people with whom we are comfortable and enjoy spending time; and so on. How long do we stay with that until we become a little (or even a lot) bored? We’re just not built to live lives where nothing changes. There is, inside of us, a deep need to
continue exploring new things and learn more about our selves and the world around us. It’s our spiritual nature that we just cannot escape and, do you know what, our Soul really doesn’t want to escape it either. Try though the Ego might, it just cannot over-ride that Deep Soul Programming that comes from the Centre of Source itself. It’s a bit like a master programme in a computer that over-rides absolutely everything else – except this programme is completing infallible and unbreakable. Like telling a bumble bee not to collect nectar – it’s in its nature to do so.
Once we really understand that we are the ones who are creating and attracting these dramas into our lives, we can then examine those situations and gain understanding as to why we’ve created them. It could be that we just wanted to shake it up a bit and see what came out of it. It could be that there was something specific we wanted to create and experience. It could be a message to ourselves that there is an attachment to something that we need to let go of.
We can become very attached to living a quiet, simple, comfortable life where nothing changes from day to day. We are attached to living a life in which we feel secure and safe. If that changes, we become scared and fearful. The Ego tries to keep us in a place of stagnation. The subconscious mind wants to keep us safe and so fears new experiences in case they bring harm. Here’s the thing: We didn’t come here to experience a quiet, simple life, where every day is the same. Most certainly we came here to experience joy and bliss. We also came here to experience contrast. It is often only when we experience contrast that we can really appreciate what we have, and what we want.
It’s worth thinking about any dramas that are going on around you right now. Why do you think they’re there? What are they telling you? What can you learn from them? What, if any, are the attachments you have that you need to let go of. You have attracted whatever it is into your life for a reason – see that as a powerful thing rather than a powerless thing. It means you are creating your life. If you can create the dramas, then you can learn from them and create something even better. Enjoy the creation – that’s why we’re here after all.
